Ambulance chasers out of luck
In all the excitment of the week following Bush's (ie: conservatism's) victory I had completely forgotten about the trial lawyers. Im sure all of us have been making a list in our heads of all the LOSERS in this election; Michael Moore, the Democratic party, all those filthy hippy protesters who seemed to crawl out from their 40 year hibernation.
National Review has a great piece up right now about the trial lawyers being one of the biggest losers of all. Here's a preview:
The litigation industry in America had a lot riding on last Tuesday's elections. In addition to running a personal-injury lawyer — almost wholly financed by plaintiffs' attorneys — for the second highest office in the land, Trial Lawyers, Inc. faced several state referenda and key judicial races that were bellwethers for tort reform. Although the lawyers scored a couple of small victories, they by and large were trounced in what amounted to a very bad night for America's avaricious legal vultures. Businesses, doctors, and grassroots activists combined to lay the groundwork for both state and federal legal reform.

Noooooooooooo!!! :-O If there's tort reform, then how do you expect the poor, destitute Ralph Nader to maintain his $3.8 million bank account?
